A Voice From the Grave First Quarter Sales Through the Roof

A Voice From the Grave Audio Book

Brook Forest Voices is pleased to announce that the first quarter numbers are in for the 2012 First Place CIPA EVVY award winner A Voice From the Grave. In one month alone this audio book sold almost three hundred copies.

“A Voice From The Grave” is one of the best civil war mysteries that I have ever read. Ms. Mason’s writing has the ability to transport the reader into the story to a point where one can almost see, hear, and feel what is happening. She does an incredible job of blending the past and present and doesn’t leave the reader confused or wondering what happened. One of the reasons that I really enjoyed this mystery is because I could not pre-guess the ending. I could not put this book down until I had finished it. I was surprised and delighted with the conclusion. The only “spoiler” I will give is that this is one of the first books concerning civil war prisons that I’ve read that has a female as a character. I will not say more so I do not give away any more spoilers but it is well worth reading. I highly recommend this to anyone that likes history, mysteries, or just a well-written book” By Lasla Moore

“Yvonne Mason does it again! From the compelling cover, through the historical accuracy and on to her carefully-woven mystery, Mason grabs the reader and doesn’t let go. History buffs will be pleased with the factual descriptive drama of a time and place of shame in our country’s past. Who hasn’t heard of the terrible, evil Andersonville? And who doesn’t wonder about the spiritual unrest of those who suffered and died horribly there? Get your copy of this audio book and be prepared to be thrust back into the time of the American Civil War, then brought forth to the present-day mystery. You will not want to turn it off.”¬†Holly Fox Vellekoop

This review is from: A Voice from the Grave (Paperback)

This book, by Yvonne Mason was a mesmerizing read. Bouncing from the present day back to the days of the Civil War. The graphic words describing the hell hole which was known as Andersonville Prison was enough to put the reader right there in those circumstances, shivering with the horror suffered by the armies of this country’s greatest and bloodiest war. Families ripped apart and asunder often with no word of the fate of loved ones.

The mysterious and ghostly visitations leading the characters through a maze of confusion and eerie denial of the possibility of life after death to a die hard believer in such things as he and his niece, Savanna go on the hunt of their lives for the answers to the puzzle posed by the unearthing of two skeletons found at a dig they were working at the old Andersonville Prison. We go along with them as the secrets are unveiled, feeling the whisper of those gone beyond at the turning of every page.

The end was a pleasant surprise to me after an edge of the seat build up..I couldn’t have asked for better.
Yvonne is a very descriptive writer who reaches out to her readers and takes us with her into the web that snares us and brings us along. This is an in depth tale of the suffering of those who fought and gave the last full measure of devotion, and the families who came down through the years to breathe life into their legacy. Excellent read that won’t disappoint.

For Those of You Who Think Indie Authors Have No Talent Think Again

Okay boys and girls and children of all ages listen up. There are the doubters out there. There are those who are so entrenched in the propaganda that Traditional Publishers know best that they are missing out on a world of authors who are called Indie Authors. We have been accused of having no talent, of not being able to spell, not knowing how to put an interesting story line together among other excuses they have for not reading out work. Their loss.

Well for those of you who are doubters let me show you something, my audio book “A Voice From the Grave” is one of six finalist for the CIPA EVVY Audiobook Award.  This is the page where the finalist are listed this includes books and audio books- A Voice From the Grave is fifth from the top

This is quite an honor there are thousands of audio books entered and A Voice From the Grave is in the top six. So before anyone else says that indie’s have no talent remember this blog

Ad in Publishers Weekly showing A Voice From the Grave one of four from BrookForest Voices in the finals.

This book was four years in the research and writing. It is a historical novel and all the history is correct. The story is fiction.

So Remember we Indie’s do have talent, we are just in control of our destiny and refuse to be put in a box or controlled by corporations who wind up with all the money. Read an indie, you might like it.

The Silly Season and What to Give!

A Voice From the Grave Audio Book

Yes even audio books! they are in p3 format you can listen to them on our computer, ipod, ipad and newer cars. There is one cd which is indeed the entire book. Great for the elderly, legally blind or folks who have problems with their hands or are bedridden or chair bound.

It is now upon us in full mode that time of year when gifts are bought and given with love. It doesn’t matter if you celebrate Winter Solstice, Hanakauh or Christmas. It is the season. We spend so much time in front of TV’s, Computers and other things that most of us have forgotten how to read books. It does not matter what form them come in they are still books. With that being said, I want to give you the reader a site to order my books – yes they can be ordered on Amazon – Amazon Kindle- Nook Book and Itunes. But there is a little known fact that they can also be ordered at my online bookstore – if you don’t know which book that special someone would like, I offer gift certificates as well. On this site are collector playing cards with my book covers as backs. Any item which is purchased will be signed by me. If you wish that purchase to be dropped shipped to that certain someone I can do that as well- I also offer gift wrapping at no charge.
How can you go wrong? Gift wrapping, the perfect gift with a personlized note, the gift signed by me and dropped shipped to that certain someone. It is shipped via priority mail so yes they will get it in time for the fat man in the red suit, or other form of delivery.

I know of no author who offers such goodies, mainstream or indie. I have several genres from inspiration to true crime to fiction thrillers to comedy so many choices so little time. A Voice From the Grave Soon to Be Released in Audio

A Voice From the Grave in Audio

A Voice from the Grave my historically correct fiction which involves a mysterious death will soon be released in audio form. It will be in mp3 format and the entire book will be on one disk. It is unabridged and the reader will be able to download to their computer, ipad, kindle, ipod, itunes or any other electronic device that holds mp3’s.

This format is great for people who are traveling and don’t like to handle disks while they are driving. Just pop the one disk in and listen to the entire book without ever changing cd’s. It is also good for those who are sight challenged as they don’t have to fool with changing disk.

The audio book is great for those who are in the hospital or stay in bed due to illness. They don’t have to worry with holding a book or changing the disk. Just put this one disk in the player and listen to the entire book.

The Music used for this audio book has been mastered by Derek Whitacre who masters the music for the Abby Scenes on NCIS.

A Voice from the Grave is my first audio book, there will be more to follow if this one is a success.
